William Basinski – The Disintegration Loops

“d|p 1.1” is like listening to someone playing a broken piano and having too much fun with the sustain pedal. Neither the loop nor the disintegration of “d|p 2.1” is worth hearing.

As a Canadian, I understood the impact of 9/11, but I never felt it. The Disintegration Loops, with that tragedy unashamedly used as the cover, does nothing to change that. Maybe because the two had nothing to do with one another except coincidence. Art versus artifice, you know?
